In terms of fashion, the world of wizards and witches in Harry Potter (especially in the movies) has changed quite a bit. While almost all students were still sitting with funny hats in the Great Hall in the first movie, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Co. could have gone directly to a Muggle school without their robes in the later movies. Which, looking at extravagant wizard fashion like Ron's robe from the fourth part, might not be so wrong...
