Technische beschrijving Unpack & Track GPS and GSM Tracker
Unpack & Track GPS and GSM Tracker: Behind this somewhat cumbersome name lies a very high-quality and easy-to-use tracking system.
The Unpack & Track system consists of a small device with a GPS receiver and SIM card as well as browser-based software. The device, software and your cell phone or email program can communicate with each other. As a result, the tracking system offers additional options such as a panic function in addition to determining your position.
What can the Unpack & Track system be used for?
The GPS & GSM Tracker is mainly used for Determining the location of people or objects. This can be useful in a wide variety of applications: to track where your family members are, to see where your pet is or to track the transportation route of valuable goods. Whatever you have in mind: Of course, the system only works if the person or goods have the tracking device with them.
What is the principle of the Unpack & Track system?
The small tracking device contains a GPS receiver and a SIM card. The GPS receiver receives its position through contact with satellites, just like in a normal GPS device. The SIM card allows you to retrieve this position and stay informed about the battery status of the device, for example. The SIM card uses the GSM network (cell phone network) to send the position data to the Unpack & Track servers and thus to the softwaresoftware, your cell phone or your e-mail address.
What are the specifications of the tracking device?
The tracking device is available in two versions. In a basic version and as a so-called Fat Boy. Both versions receive Europe-wide GPS coordinates with up to 2m accuracy (A-GPS signal, SiRF Star III). There are 20 satellites available for this purpose. Positioning not only works outdoors but also inside most buildings.
In the Basic version you get a 76g lightweight device the size of a cell phone including a protective cover. The basic device has a lithium-ion battery that lasts up to 9 days in use. A power supply unit with mini USB plug is included. The device is splash-proof.
The large version, the Fat Boycomes in a sturdy, waterproof box with a carabiner hook, to which two strong magnets (49 kg pulling force) are attached. The box is equipped with a very long-lasting battery pack - it lasts up to 2 months (18000 mAh). A charger is included. The Fat Boy weighs 720g.
What functions does the software offer?
The software of the Unpack & Track system is browser-based - You only need to create an account that is connected to the tracking device and can then log into the program from any computer with an Internet connection. The program then shows you the last transmitted position of the tracking device on a map. Of course, you can also set many parameters in the software, e.g. how often the position should be retrieved - from every 5 seconds (real time) to every 4 hours or not at all. You can also call up the battery charge level as well as the GPS and GSM signal strength. Of course, it is also possible to history i.e. the past positions. This data can also be exported as a .csv or .doc file.
What else can the system do?
Another great function of the GPS and GSM tracker is the determination of a visibility zonewhose radius is adjustable. If the tracking device leaves this zone, you will receive a warning by e-mail or SMS. You will also receive a message if the so-called panic button is pressed on the tracking device. If, for example, your child gets lost, they can press the button and you will receive a text message. The special thing is that this text message not only contains the GPS coordinates but also the addressstreet and house number. This principle also works in reverse: you can send the phone number of the SIM card in the device and then receive a text message back with the location. In this way, you can also call up the location if there is no computer nearby. Incidentally, these functions can not only be used for one device - with the software you can manage up to 50 tracking devices at once!
The operation of the device and software is explained in the English manual. The software is also in English.
What running costs will I incur?
Of course, communication via the GSM cell phone network costs money. These charges are not included in the price of the device and software. With the Unpack & Track system, however no monthly basic fee charged! You pay for each communication with the device individually - so it only costs something if you actually use it. There are also no roaming chargesthere is one price for the whole of Europe!
Payment works via a credit system with staggered prices for different purchase quantities. Retrieving position data via the software is cheaper (29 euros for 5,000 positions up to 359 euros for 200,000 positions) than retrieving it by cell phone (12 euros for 50 SMS up to 99 euros for 1,000 SMS). To get started, 100 position credits are already credited to your account.
Conclusion
The Unpack & Track GPS and GSM Tracker is a cost-effective, easy-to-use and reliable real-time tracking system that helps you keep an eye on valuable goods and keep your family safe.
Finally, we would like to point out that it is of course forbidden to track people without their knowledge using devices such as this GPS tracker!
