Description 36 Cube 3D Puzzle

The 36 Cube 3D puzzle presents you with a challenge that even the famous mathematician Leonhard Euler failed to solve.

The rules for the 36 Cube 3D puzzle are similar to those of Sudoku. The 36 blocks in 6 different colors must be arranged so that in each row and column - viewed from above - each color appears only once. That alone would not be difficult if the blocks and rods did not also have 6 different lengths! The goal is to create a uniform cube. So, only 6 different blocks fit on each rod.

The 36 Cube 3D puzzle is modeled after the problem of the 36 officers, which Catherine the Great presented to Euler in 1766 on the occasion of a division ball. Instead of a cube of blocks with different lengths and colors, it was about a formation of officers from different regiments and with different ranks.

According to Euler, this puzzle is mathematically unsolvable. Maybe it is? Or will you stumble upon the solution by chance? Even if it is probably never possible to solve it completely, it is fun to try and gradually place more and more blocks correctly.
