Description Fundamentalist network activist

Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom AG, believes that the advocates of net neutrality are "fundamentalist network activists." At least that's what he writes in a post on Telekom's website.
Net neutrality refers to the equality of all data streams on the Internet and means in practice that large companies cannot buy faster access to Internet users with a lot of money, thereby slowing down small businesses or private individuals. That Telekom is against net neutrality is not surprising: Immediately after the EU Parliament weakened it in a regulation on Tuesday, Telekom announced that it would prioritize data from Internet companies in exchange for revenue sharing. The lip service of the EU Parliament, that possible exceptions to net neutrality would only apply to offers like mobile health services or connected driving, lasted just one day. That escalated quickly!
